Cut open,
put back together
SIRLOIN was founded in Shanghai in 2015 by Mao Usami and Alve Lagercrantz. The name is a joke about premium cuts, and the clothes follow suit: classic pieces sliced open, re-seamed and re-labelled, wearable enough for every day and strange enough to start a conversation.
The studio has shown on the Shanghai Fashion Week schedule since Autumn/Winter 2017, with runway shows that have featured a green-screen cast, a gilded David and a rooftop at night. The collection is stocked by concept stores across China, Japan, Europe and the Americas.
